They arent going to remove plaque they are going to remove tartar which is hard deposit on human & dog teeth. Only a professional cleaning can get it off. Call another vet office & ask for prices.
My vet charged only about 180 for a cat’s teeth cleaning.
If your dog is old I suggest the vet quote you the price of NOT doing a liver lab test first. It will save you money. They check the liver to see if the dog can handle being put to sleep for a while so they can clean the dog’s teeth. Or if the dog is old dont get its teeth cleaned. Just because the vet said you should get the cleaning DOES NOT mean you have to!
Yes it is good for her health to get her teeth cleaned but you dont have to if you feel she isnt going to live much longer anyway.
But yeah I would call around to other offices (in lower income towns) for prices from other vets for a dog’s teeth cleaning.
