I Was Scammed By Cleanwhites And Dazzlesmile. Did I Do Enough To Protect Myself?

I was scammed by CleanWhites & Dazzlesmile. I signed up for two free trials for teeth whitening. They charged me a few charges amounting to about $55. I am willing to stomach this but want to ensure I have not more charges & issues with the companies. I cancelled my debit card/ account & and savings account. I now have a new checking & savings account.
I havve not sent the stuff back because they will charge me for shipping.
By cancelling my card & accounts have I done enough to protect myself future consequences from my lapse in judgement (signing up for these free trials in the first place)?

It’s a shame you had to cancel your credit cards & change bank accounts over this, only because sometimes by canceling a credit card this can actually hurt your credit score but not enough to worry about it.
I don’t see how you would have any more problems with them taking your money since you’ve gone to all that trouble in changing your accounts, etc. But, then again, there are other ways you could be affected by this. I’ll explain in a minute.
As for even thinking about sending the product back, don’t you dare. You’ve PAID for it for crying out loud, even if you didn’t want to or planned on it.
The idea behind those products is for you to try it for free without any obligation. Too bad you didn’t cancel the subscription before the trial was over rather than turning your life upside down by changing your bank & credit card account.
Bottom line & to answer your question… Yes, I believe you have done everything possible to protect yourself & to avoid being charged again except, & this is an important question for you to think about, did you call them & officially cancel any further shipments?
If not, I recommend you do so immediately. You wouldn’t want then to send you more product even though you canceled your credit card & then report you to a collection agency for non-payment, now would you?! It could happen.
Hope that helps & good luck to you!
