Is My Lip Ring Suppose To Sink In From The Outside?

I got it pierced three days ago & I know it’s suppose to sink in from the inside to protect your teeth, but it’s sinking in from the outside into my lip. I can push it out, but it hurts when I do & when I go to sleep at night & wake up it crusted around, but it doesn’t hurt once I push it out. But it keeps sinking in. Should I go back to my piercer to get a long bar? It’s a stud not a ball.

Studs have balls at the end most of the time. I’m assuming you meant not a ring. I’m not really sure about sinking in from the outside but it wouldn’t hurt to go see your piercer & get their opinion. If the bar is too short & it’s touching your lip, then that’s the problem because the piercing needs room to heal. After the swelling goes down you can have him put in a shorter bar.
